This paper examined the relevance of agricultural education in achieving human resources development in Africa against the background of increasing unemployment rate among school leavers and the resultant negative effects on African economy. Consequently, the authors looked at the concepts of Agricultural Education and human resources development,
overview of university, intermediate, and secondary levels of Agricultural Education in Africa. Resources development opportunities of Agricultural Education and challenges for Agricultural Education in Africa were highlighted. Appropriate recommendations aimed at improving Agricultural Education for human resources development were made.
