A Case Study of the Experiences of Agriculture Teachers Modernizing the Supervised Agricultural Experience

School-based agricultural education (SBAE) is centered around three components: classroom instruction, FFA leadership development, and Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) (National FFA Organization, 2023). The "three-circle model" structure emphasizes each component equally. In practice, the distribution of time and attention among these components often varies, with SAE typically receiving the least focus (Shoulders & Toland, 2017). Implementing SAEs presents teachers with challenges, including limited local opportunities, insufficient resources, changing student demographics, and evolving school environments (Lewis et al., 2012; Retallick, 2010; Steele, 1997; Wilson & Moore, 2007).
